Which lane to use

General lanes: any valid document. This is the line CBP reports as "standard".

Ready Lane: for RFID-enabled documents (new border crossing card, passport card, green card). Everyone in the vehicle must have one. It usually moves faster than the general line.

SENTRI: dedicated lane for members of the CBP trusted traveler program. The fastest, but it requires membership and a registered vehicle.

Documents to bring

  • Valid passport with a U.S. visa, or a border crossing card (laser visa).
  • Permanent residents: green card. U.S. citizens: passport or passport card.
  • Traveling beyond the border zone (about 25 miles) or staying more than 30 days requires an I-94, issued at the bridge or online.
  • For the Ready Lane, every traveler needs an RFID-enabled document.

How many people cross

According to the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) border crossing data, in 2025 about 2.75 million personal vehicles and 1.3 million pedestrians entered the U.S. through Eagle Pass, and 1.75 million vehicles through Del Rio. That is roughly 7,500 vehicles a day in Eagle Pass alone.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to cross Bridge 1 today?

The time above is the CBP estimate for the vehicle line right now; CBP updates it about once an hour and we check it every 5 minutes. The cameras let you see the line yourself.

Which lane is fastest?

Usually SENTRI, but it requires membership. If everyone in the car has an RFID document, the Ready Lane is usually faster than the general line.

What time is the line shortest?

It depends on the day. We store every CBP reading and use it to find the hours with the shortest and longest lines for each weekday; see "Best time to cross".

Where do the wait times come from?

From Border Wait Times, the public CBP service. They are estimates measured from the toll booth in Mexico to the first U.S. inspection.

Are the cameras live?

Yes. They are live streams from Super Channel 12, the City of Piedras Negras and local channels. They load when you tap them so the page opens fast.
